how to become a WSEM volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at WSEM. Here are the steps you will need to complete to become a WSEM volunteer:
- Complete a Volunteer Application (please click here to download a copy to complete and return).
- Interview – Once we receive your Volunteer Application, you will be called and interviewed to determine the appropriate placement.
- Background/Criminal Records Check – With your approval, if you will be volunteering in a child-serving program, WSEM authorizes a background and criminal records investigation.
- Reference Check – WSEM will call the three references you list on your application.
- Tour of Facility/Introduction – Once you have been approved, you will receive a tour of the facility in which you will be volunteering.
- Identification Badge – Upon approval, depending on the program, you may be issued an identification badge that must be worn at all times when volunteering at WSEM.
- Orientation and training – Once approved, you will be provided an overview of the agency and information will be shared about interacting with clients and staff.
